VCi’s New Waste Management System – It makes environmental sense!
VC Industries have increased their commitment to the environment with the purchase of a new Atlas Copco Variable Speed Drive Compressor and the introduction of a recycling programme, which will reduce the amount of energy used and give them a saving of over Ł10,000 per year.
Part funded by a Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) Business Resource Efficiency and Waste (BREW) grant, the new system comprises a GA18VSD compressor, OSC355 oil/water separator, EWD330 electronic ‘zero loss’ drain, FX14 dryer, Energair SX intelligent control system and a 1,000 litre vertical air receiver.
In addition to the compression system, VCi have acquired a new Bale press, model 306, to bale cardboard and polywrap to be recycled – this will reduce the waste going to landfill and hence the waste costs of the company.
The two new initiatives are further moves in the development of VCi’s environmental agenda.
